Channel Five to cut 25% of workforce

Dawn Airey, chief executive at Five, briefed staff about a reconstruction plan for the commercial broadcaster, says reports. Channel Five aims to cut 87 jobs in order to strengthen the company. This comes on the heels of ITV's announcement on Wednesday that 600 jobs would be cut as a result of the dramatic downturn in advertising.
