Contract Hotels doc receives Crystal Award

Dutch documentary Contract Hotels - Djangen Loepah! by Hetty Naaijkens- Retel Helmrich has been awarded with a Crystal Film for selling over 10,000 tickets since its release. It is the first documentary this year to reach the status of a Crystal Film in the Netherlands. The film tells the story of how after the Second World War, Indonesian Dutch were repatriated to their original homeland, the Netherlands, and placed in 'contract' housing. The Crystal Film award is an initiative presented by the Dutch Film Fund and the Netherlands Film Festival, which began in 2005.
