Allan Singer joins OWN

The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) has announced that Allan Singer, ex-Comcast, is coming on board as executive vice president of distribution and strategy. Singer will lead the content distribution and sales strategy for the new net from L.A., and starts the job today (Nov. 2). While at Comcast, he worked a variety of positions and took part in numerous launches (including that of PBS Kids Sprout). Most recently, he was senior vice president of content acquisition for Comcast Cable. 'Allan's expertise will ensure OWN's content is available to viewers on every platform,' said OWN CEO Christina Norman. 'At launch OWN will be in more than 70 million homes, and he will be instrumental in creating and building our relationship with our affiliate partners.'
