Independent Spirit Award nominations announced

Film Independent has announced the nominations for the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards. Up for the Best Documentary category are director Sacha Gervasi for Anvil! The Story of Anvil, Robert Kenner for Food, Inc., Kristopher Belman for More Than A Game, co-directors Donal Mosher and Michael Palmieri for October Country and Rebecca Cammisa for Which Way Home. As well, the Truer Than Fiction Award, which is given to an emerging non-fiction feature director who hasn't received signification recognition, has announced its nominees. The nominees are Natalia Almada for El General, Jessica Oreck for Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo and Bill Ross and Turner Ross for 45365. The award includes a $25,000 unrestricted grant.
