Proper hires former CBC factual production head

Toronto-based prodco Proper Television has added former CBC factual production head Cathie James as creative director. At Proper, James will be responsible for securing rest-of-the-world financing for an expanded programming slate. In her time at the CBC, James headed up programs such as Dragon's Den, Battle of the Blades and How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? She has also worked as an indie producer, a production executive at Alliance Atlantis Communications and head of development at Red Apple Entertainment, now Frantic Films.
