With the input of our advisory board helmed by Thom Beers, CEO & executive producer, Original Productions and including SPIKE TV’s SVP original series, Sharon Levy, the second edition of this conference is certain to provide producers in the fact ent/reality space with an abundance of dynamic, practical advice geared towards their business success.
The conference takes place at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows in beautiful Santa Monica, CA, June 2 and 3. This year, we wanted to provide even more networking opportunities for delegates and to this end have borrowed some of the most popular networking sessions from the Realscreen Summit. Producers will be given an intimate opportunity to hear from network execs during our signature ’30 Minutes With…’ sessions spread over the course of both days. Additionally we’ll be hosting Speed Pitching sessions where programming execs will take three-minute pitches from producers. The Factual Entertainment Forum culminates in the presentation of the Factual Entertainment Awards in a high-profile ceremony at the Fairmont on June 2. Our incredible judges are hard at work sifting through the high volume of entries received for the premier global celebration of fact ent/reality excellence. I’d like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the selfless broadcasters, producers and distributors for giving their time and their talent for spotting ‘winners’ to the proceedings. We’re also very excited to announce the launch of a brand new Global Pitch Guide for the factual entertainment industry. This guide will spell out the buying priorities for key international broadcasters of factual programming across all genres. This comprehensive tool will offer buyers and distributors inside information that will help in zeroing in on the most likely buyers of their programs. The print edition has a street date of August 31 and will be mailed to the entire realscreen subscriber list of over 6,000 and then distributed at MIPCOM in October.
