CTV and Discovery extend joint venture

CTV and Discovery Communications Inc. (DCI) announced the extension of their Discovery Canada joint venture, which includes English-language broadcast rights in Canada for programming from Discovery Channel, Discovery Science, Discovery Health, Discovery HD Theatre and Investigation Discovery. Under the agreement, Discovery Canada will be able to use Discovery-branded content on multiple platforms, including the Internet, on-demand and mobile. CTV will also have the English-language rights to launch new Discovery branded channels in Canada, excluding TLC, Military Channel and the OWN and Hub joint ventures.
