A new Singapore-based film festival that will combine screenings of features, shorts and docs with cuisine from each international region represented has announced its dates and tentative program. Singafest will be held from September 4-11 and will feature films from Singapore, Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and the Middle East, The United States and Canada, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Africa and Central and South America over the course of its eight days. In addition to the feast for the eyes, attendees will be treated to ‘an accompaniment of delicacies themed to the region that the films originate [from],’ according to organizers. The fest will conclude with an awards ceremony, offering prizes for best feature, best short and best documentary, as well as a special Five Senses Award which organizers say will go to ‘the entry that best suits the overall theme of tantalizing the five senses.’ For more information, visit www.singafest.com.
