Arthur Bastings, EVP and MD of Discovery Networks EMEA for the past six years, is leaving the company.

Bastings came to Discovery from Turner Broadcasting Europe, overseeing the launch of over 50 channels that have attracted 220 million subscribers in 115 countries. The management for EMEA is to be split between Dee Forbes, EVP and MD, Discovery Networks UK and Kasia Kieli, SVP and GM, Discovery Networks Central Europe. Forbes will lead the UK/Western Europe division covering the UK, Germany, Southern Europe, Nordic and Benelux. Kieli will take care of Central and Eastern Europe and emerging markets, including Poland, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Middle East and Africa. David Rey, COO, EMEA, will jointly report to Forbes and Kieli.

There is no word as to where Bastings is heading post-Discovery, but he will work with DNI president/CEO Mark Hollinger and DNI’s senior management team to facilitate the transition.
