19 Entertainment’s Nigel Lythgoe returns to ‘Idol’

Nigel Lythgoe will return to American Idol as executive producer for 19 Entertainment, Fox has announced. Lythgoe joins executive producers Simon Fuller, Cecile Frot-Coutaz and Ken Warwick for the next season of Idol. 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia share the rights to Fox's hit singing show. Lythgoe produced Idol for the series' first seven years, and left in 2008 to focus on So You Think You Can Dance, which he co-created and is an on-air judge. He is also co-founder of Big Red 2 Entertainment.
