NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker will be stepping down once the Comcast takeover of NBC is completed. Making the announcement internally via email Friday morning, he also conducted an interview with the New York Times in which he elaborated on the situation, saying that Comcast COO Steve Burke ‘made it clear that they wanted to move on at the close of the deal and I was completely comfortable with that.’ Elsewhere in the interview, Zucker says he ‘didn’t want to end up being a guest in my own house.’ The takeover, in which Comcast will purchase 51% of NBCU from its owner, General Electric, is expected to become reality by end of this year, subject to regulatory approval.
