Dutch doc to open IDFA

IDFA's director Ally Derks has announced that Position Among the Stars (Stand van de sterren) will open this year's fest on November 17. The doc from Dutch director Leonard Retel Helmrich will also compete in the IDFA competition for feature-length documentary. Position Among the Stars is the conclusion of a three-part series from Helmrich, focusing on modern Indonesia through the life of a Christian/Islamic family. was the first part, released in 2002, and the second film, Shape of the Moon (Stand van de maan) opened IDFA in 2004 and won the IDFA award for feature-length docs that year.
