BBC Worldwide has upped senior sales executive Alice Hughes to the newly-created position of formats acquisitions manager.

She will be reporting to Matt Paice, EVP, International Production, and will be responsible for fostering new relationships with independent producers and rights holders internationally, in order to develop formats and concepts for BBC Worldwide’s production network and format licensing.

In her previous role, Hughes was responsible for sales of formats into EMEA, and she brought Dancing with the Stars into Scandinavia, Greece, Turkey, Israel, the Middle East and Portugal.

Prior to BBCWW, she worked as a sales executive for Eyeworks and in worldwide production at FremantleMedia.

Hughes’ new position is effective immediately and BBCWW says she’ll be attending the Realscreen Summit next week in this capacity.
