For The Interrupters, director Steve James and author Alex Kotlowitz followed three ‘violence interrupters’ working for Chicago-based organization CeaseFire, which believes the spread of violence is analogous to infectious diseases and should be treated as such.  The film premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
