Howard Lee upped to SVP at TLC

The "driving force" behind TLC hits such as Cake Boss and Sister Wives will now oversee the network's bicoastal production team, reporting to TLC GM Amy Winter.

Howard Lee, most recently vice president of production and development for Discovery Communications’ TLC, has been upped to SVP of the department.

Reporting to GM Amy Winter, he’ll be tasked with overseeing the net’s bicoastal production team. Having joined the net in 2009, Lee was part of the team that managed the final season of JonĀ & Kate 8, and strengthened TLC’s position in genres such as food (Cake Boss, DC Cupcakes) and weddings (Four Weddings).

Prior to TLC, Lee was VP of development and production, East Coast, for the launch of Planet Green. Before that, he oversaw development for Travel Channel.

“Howard has been the driving force for some of TLC’s most successful programming choices, including fan-favorite Cake Boss and the groundbreaking Sister Wives,” said Winter in a statement. ‘He is skilled at heartfelt storytelling and creating remarkable real-life characters, and he’ll be instrumental in moving the network forward.”
