SevenOne International moves into U.S.

The German-based distributor has opened an office in LA with Caroline Kusser heading up the North American business.

Seven One International, the distribution arm of German broadcaster ProSiebenSat 1′s Red Arrow Entertainment Group, has opened an American office in Los Angeles in a move to expand its presence in English-language markets.

Caroline Kusser, previously ProSiebenSat 1′s regional programming sales director, has been tapped to lead the U.S. office, branded as Seven One International Inc. The company says the expansion is aimed at bringing more programs from SevenOne International’s catalog into the U.S., as well as enlarging SevenOne International’s portfolio of English-language content to expand sales in the U.S. and UK by acquiring more third-party content. The company also hopes to team with more local prodcos in the markets and offer local broadcasters the opportunity to make versions of SevenOne International formats.

Earlier this year, the company struck a deal with ABC in the U.S. to air a version of You Deserve It, to be produced by Kinetic Content. Red Arrow Entertainment has a majority stake in the LA-based prodco.
