Documentary director and author Jean-Christoph Caron has joined ZDF Digital in a role that will see him develop new multi-platform formats for the company and its new subsidiary F12 Media.
Caron (pictured) has developed and directed documentaries, docudramas and science formats for national German media companies such as ARD, ZDF and 3Sat and international broadcasters such as National Geographic, ARTE, France 2 and BBC.
“Above all, the challenge to develop material in the history, science and current affairs genres that works on both national and international levels, where TV productions can be combined and tied with other media platforms, appeals to me the most,” he said in a statement.
“He is a perfect supplement to the team and enables us to expand our content expertise and strengthen the interaction of the different areas of TV production, multimedia and animation (CGI, motion graphics, 2D/3D),” said ZDF Digital CEO Christian Massmann of Caron. “Together we will create attractive audiovisual and trendsetting cross-platform formats in the history, science and current affairs genres.”
