Discovery Networks International (DNI) has started production with U.S. English-language Latino network nuvoTV on Mission Menu, a 12 x 30-minute culinary makeover series.

The series features three international executive chefs – Giuseppe Bologona, Diane DiMeo, and Ricardo Cardona – as they visit assorted locales to overhaul existing restaurants and help launch new ones. Production for the series has visited New York, Miami and most recently Mérida, the capital city of Yucatán, Mexico.

Mission Menu, produced by exec produced by Chris Bray for Bray Entertainment and Jon Sechrist for DNI, will first air on nuvoTV (currently Sí TV, to be rebranded in July) in October of 2011 and will debut on TLC International next year.

Mission Menu will whet viewers’ appetites for high-quality lifestyle programming and have them craving for more,” said Luis Silberwasser, executive vice president and chief content officer, Discovery Networks International. “This new series allows gastronomic experts to take their culinary skills to the next level as they identify big bold flavors to help reinvent big bold restaurants.”
