Global producer Endemol has signed on as production partner with Simon Fuller’s XIX Entertainment for the upcoming Jennifer Lopez/Marc Anthony-hosted talent show ¡Q’viva! The Chosen.

The series, originally announced by Fuller’s company in late April, will follow the superstar duo as they travel to villages and cities across 21 Latin American countries in search of the best in “music, artistry and dance.” Music tour director/producer and choreographer Jamie King will also take part.

Endemol will utilize its production network in Latin America for the series, incorporating production of local programming that will be tailored for each host country in which talent is selected. The partnership also allows for Endemol to locally produce the format in other territories, and the company says discussions are already happening in Europe.

Endemol will also globally distribute the series outside of the U.S. Partners say the series, to be filmed in Spanish, English and Portuguese, will launch simultaneously on “leading television networks” across North, South and Central America. Thus far, broadcasting networks have not been announced, but partners say XIX is in “advanced negotiations” with English and Spanish-speaking U.S. nets for the series. Global sponsors supporting the program include mobile brand BlackBerry.

“Endemol is the world’s most potent production company and their huge distribution network across the world will compliment perfectly my vision for entertainment shows with global reach and scalability,” said Fuller. “Ynon Kreiz [Endemol Group chairman and CEO] is a powerful partner and his commitment to innovate and support our ambitious plans will make this an exciting project.”

“Simon Fuller is among the greatest creators in the entertainment industry and Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony embody the ultimate in Latin American superstardom,” added Kreiz. “We are proud to be joining forces with them and the legendary Jamie King on this international project for which we will bring to bear all the strength of Endemol’s production and distribution platforms.”

Lopez and Anthony will be traveling throughout North America from mid-July through to the end of August as part of the talent hunt which will be documented throughout the series, culminating in what the production partners say will be “the biggest Latin American live show ever.”

Nominations are currently being culled through Facebook, and video auditions can be uploaded to a dedicated YouTube channel.

The news of Endemol’s involvement comes while speculation persists about whether Lopez will be returning to the FremantleMedia/XIX Entertainment-produced American Idol for a second season as a judge.
