Inverleigh Media Holdings launches distribution arm, in-house prodco

The Australia and UK-based content company aims to produce 250 hours of content for the international market and distribute it exclusively through its DSI division.

Inverleigh Media Holdings, an Australia and UK-based content company created by two former Sportsbrand Media Group executives, is launching an in-house prodco, dubbed Intrepid Production, and a distribution arm, DSI.

The production company will initially be based in Melbourne, with Inverleigh directors Peter Wraith and Matt Whytcross saying plans are afoot for offices in London and “other key locations” in 2012. The company also aims to produce 250 hours of programming for the international market in its first year.

No commissions or broadcast partners for that programming have been announced yet, but the company says Intrepid will be doing production service work for clients including the AFL and Australia’s Seven Network.

The new distribution arm, DSI, will exclusively distribute Intrepid’s content, as well as “a selection of titles from third party producers.” Inverleigh says the programming will stem from the lifestyle, sport and entertainment genres.

DSI will be headquartered in London and will operate out of Inverleigh’s UK and Australia offices for the time being, with plans for office outposts in North America and the Middle East.
