The nominations for the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards have been announced, with HBO garnering the most nominations at 104, CBS coming in second with 50, and PBS racking up 43.
There are plenty of familiar titles in the reality categories, with PBS’ Antiques Roadshow, Bravo’s Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, Discovery Channel’s MythBusters and CBS’ Undercover Boss back to vie for the outstanding reality program honor. This year they’re joined by Discovery’s Deadliest Catch, which had a huge season over the past year, and A&E’s Hoarders.
In the reality competition category, there aren’t many surprises as CBS’ The Amazing Race, Fox’s American Idol, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, Bravo’s Top Chef and Lifetime’s Project Runway return from last year’s list. This year they’re joined by a sixth show, Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance?
Outstanding non-fiction series noms went to PBS’ American Masters and Pioneers of Television, ESPN’s 30 for 30, Travel Channel’s Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, BIO’s Biography and TCM’s Moguls & Movie Stars.
Outstanding non-fiction special nominations went to OWN’s Becoming Chaz, History’s Gettysburg, HBO’s His Way, BIO’s Jaws: The Inside Story and the multi-network Stand Up To Cancer.
The awards will be broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre on Sunday, September 18 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox. The telecast, hosted by Glee‘s Jane Lynch, will be executive produced by Mark Burnett. The Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will take place on Saturday, September 10.
