Passion figures out Figure 8 deal

Figure 8 Films has signed a deal to entrust all distribution rights outside of America to UK indie Passion Distribution, which will launch a slate of the U.S. indie's titles at MIPCOM in October.

Figure 8 Films has signed a deal to entrust all distribution rights outside of America to UK indie Passion Distribution, which will launch a slate of the U.S. indie’s titles at MIPCOM in October.

Figure 8′s titles were previously sold by ID Distribution, the previous indie¬†established by Passion founder Sally Miles. Among the specials on the prodco’s slate are Conjoined At The Head, Joined For Life, Joined For Life Sweet Sixteen, Miracle Man: John Of God, Miracle Steps, No Arms Needed, Saving Life And Limb, Transgender Teens and Unmasked Treacher Collins Syndrome.

The indie has enjoyed success in the reality space in the U.S. with shows including Jon & Kate Plus 8, which is also distributed by Passion, and TLC’s show Sister Wives.

“We are huge fans of Bill Hayes and his entire team at Figure 8 Films,” said Miles.¬†“Its series and specials really resonate with a worldwide audience providing both character and story.

“Bill and his team have a unique way of bringing out the best from their subjects and I believe that has to do with the relationships they build with everyone they work with.”
