Animal Planet gets “Tanked” up again

U.S. net Animal Planet has ordered a second season of its aquarium-focused reality series Tanked (pictured), commissioning 10 new episodes to premiere spring 2012.

The order builds on the initial six-episode first season commission for Nancy Glass Productions (NGP). According to Animal Planet, the inaugural season delivered 789,000 P2+ viewers, with the finale delivering nearly one million P2+ viewers (955,000).

The show looks at Wayde King and Brett Raymer’s family business, which designs and installs creative tank and aquariums builds for top celebrities, luxury hotels, Fortune 500 businesses, private homes and millionaire homeowners. Casting for the second season is currently in progress.

Tanked was developed by Animal Planet’s Charlie Foley. Nancy Glass and Eric Neuhaus are the exec producers, and Katie Sullivan is co-executive producer for NGP. Melinda Toporoff is the exec producer for Animal Planet.
