Showmen (w/t), an ob-doc series on the secret world of British funfair families, has been acquired by Zodiak Rights for distribution.

The six-part one-hour series, produced by ITN Productions for the UK’s Channel 5, follows three showmen families as they work at some of the biggest fair grounds in Great Britain. Showmen puts a spotlight on the lifestyle that 20,000 showman families in Britain take part in.┬áChannel 5 will premiere Showmen later this year.

Jane Millichip, London-based MD of Zodiak Rights, said: “Showmen taps into the public’s interest in travelling communities and their diverse way of life. Although funfair families have been in existence for a number of years they are still relatively unknown. This series gives an extraordinary, yet sensitive insight into the way of life of these often secretive families.”

Zodiak Rights owns worldwide rights to Showmen and launched the series to the international market this week at MIPCOM.
