U.S. cable net History has commissioned Swampsgiving, a Thanksgiving special from Swamp People indie Original Media, to air November 17 at 9 p.m. EST.

The special promises to give viewers “an exciting glimpse at the world of the swamp in the off-season – in particular, the varied traditions surrounding the Thanksgiving holiday in the Atchafalaya River basin,” according to the network.

Accompanying the special episode is a new Swamp People e-cook book, containing video clips from the show as well as recipes and cooking tips from Cajun chef John Folse. The e-book will be available from swampsgiving.com from November 15.

The executive producers for the special for the indie are Jay Peterson, Charlie Corwin and Brian Catalina, while the exec producers for History are Mary Donahue and Zachary Behr.
