Target Entertainment picks up “Storage Hunters”

T Group Production and truTV's storage unit auction series has been sold to broadcasters in the UK, Canada and The Netherlands.

T Group Production’s Storage Hunters series, produced for American cable network truTV, has been picked up by London-based rights management company Target Entertainment.

The show is an observational doc-style series about the world of storage unit auctions. It follows auctioneer Sean Kelly as he sells off hidden contents of units whose owners have failed to pay rent, as well as a couple that makes a living from bidding on the items.

Target has sold the 21 x 30-minute series to a trio of international broadcasters: UK men’s network Dave, in a deal negotiated with UKTV; to SBS in the Netherlands; and to Canada’s OLN in a deal secured through Rogers. All three networks will begin airing the show in 2012.

“Observational documentaries continue to appeal to broadcasters worldwide,” said Hannah Worrall, Target’s director of sales. “Storage Hunters delivers both the entertainment and edgy realism that buyers are looking for. We’re thrilled that Dave has committed to the show along with SBS and OLN and we are confident that the show will continue to sell internationally.”
