Lifetime has ordered eight episodes of the Love Boat-inspired Love for Sail, a docu-dating series set on the high seas, from Studio Lambert (producers of Undercover Boss).

Premiering on April 10 at 10 p.m. EST/PST, the one-hour series follows four women as they board a Norwegian Cruise Line ship and sail to exotic locations, looking for love.

Cruise directors Bucko and Carmen will help the women meet their suitors at mixers, dates and excursions at the ports of call.

“A generation of viewers grew up watching the scripted series, The Love Boat, and, inspired by that program, Love for Sail captures the fun and adventure of what it’s really like to find romance on the high seas,” said Rob Sharenow, EVP, programming, Lifetime Networks.

Studio Lambert’s Stephen Lambert, Eli Holzman, Nancy Tellem, Deb Newmyer and Stuart Krasnow serve as executive producers, and for Lifetime, Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Sandy Varo Jarrell exec produce.
