Discovery Networks Western Europe’s Freeview channel Quest will air London-based Windfall Films’ Countdown to Collision, a series exploring the innovations created to avert disasters in airports, mines and dams.

Premiering tonight (May 4)  on the UK channel Quest, the 6 x 60-minutes engineering series uses CGI animation and archive footage of famous disasters to illustrate how events can spiral out of control at key moments of operation.

Countdown to Collision will touch on the extreme heat of an Australian gold mine and the explosive dangers on a Norwegian gas platform, and the inventions that help workers complete critical missions without causing a catastrophe.

The series is produced by Windfall Films’s Martin Gorst and executive produced by Carlo Massarella.
