W greenlights Vancouver spin-off for “Love It or List It”

Big Coat Productions’ Love It or List It, which airs on Canadian network W, is becoming the latest reality series to tailor itself for Vancouver.

Jillian Harris (pictured above) is to host Love It or List It Vancouver, with a co-host to be named at a later date. The West Coast spin-off of Love It or List It, which will focus on Vancouver families struggling with homes no longer suiting their needs, will bow in winter 2013 on W.

“With season five now well underway, the time is right to bring the winning formula to Vancouver’s hot real estate market,” Vibika Bianchi, Corus Entertainment’s VP of original programming, lifestyle, reality and factual entertainment, said in a statement.

Love It or List It isn’t alone in going West.

Slice recently ordered a second season of Intervention Canada from Insight Productions and Open Door Co. that features two new interventionists, Vancouver-based Joey Marcelli and Sue Donaldson of Victoria, British Columbia.

And Slice launched the Real Housewives of Vancouver reality series in Lotusland, after Vancouver-based Lark Productions earlier scouted for back-stabbing society belles in Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.
