A Current TV documentary special is to follow American comedian and radio talk show host Stephanie Miller behind the scenes of her political comedy tour.

The Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour is a one-hour inside look at how Miller’s tour began, with new footage and commentary from Miller and her co-hosts John Fugelsang, Hal Sparks and Aisha Tyler.

The comedy tour grew out of a conversation on Miller’s progressive radio talk show, The Stephanie Miller Show, and has since played to sold out venues in 28 markets and grossed more than US$1.9 million in 14 months.

The doc special will follow Miller and her various co-hosts on the road, backstage and around the country, and also looks at the radio talk show host’s personal life, including her decision to come out as gay on her radio show. It airs on the U.S. network in September.
