U.S. cable network E! has confirmed reports that it has a reality project in the works starring Nicki Minaj (pictured).

The eccentric rapper and season 12 American Idol judge will feature in a “trilogy” of specials that will begin airing in November. In a statement, the network said the programs will “offer viewers exclusive intimate access to her personal and professional life” as well as “never-before-seen footage.”

Last week, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton broke the news in an interview with Minaj. Although the rapper refused to confirm any details at the time, she did speak generally about her desire to invite television cameras into her life.

“I thought I’d never do something like that,” she told Hilton. “I find the more people see… the more they understand, and then the more they like you. If you only have such one-dimensional things to go off of like rumors, then you kind of never get to know the artist. When you pull them in your world, they see you as a real person. I’m not running away from it anymore.”
