U.S. broadcaster CBS has ordered Bake Off (working title), an American adaptation of BBC format The Great British Bake Off, to air next year.

The series will feature amateur Americans competing in baking challenges, with one ultimately crowned the winner. It is being produced by Love Productions USA and the exec producer is Richard McKerrow.

The Great British Bake Off has been a ratings-winner for UK terrestrial BBC2, with the third season finale pulling in a 25.3% share among British viewers earlier this week, according to CBS.

The ratings make the program one of the highest-rated BBC2 originated shows in the last six years. The format also airs on DR-1 in Denmark and on TV4 in Sweden, and has been sold in Australia, Ireland, Norway and France.
