Good Food opens “Scandinavian Cookbook”

UKTV-owned channel Good Food has commissioned Valentine Warner’s Scandinavian Cookbook (10 x 30-minutes) from London-based Rockabox Media.

Due to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2013, the culinary travel series will follow TV chef Valentine Warner (pictured) as he travels to Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden to explore seasonal variations in Scandinavian cuisine. In each episode, Warner will attempt to cook traditional Scandinavian recipes and experimental dishes using local delicacies and ingredients.

Additionally, all of the recipes featured in the program will be made available via the channel’s website.

“Scandinavian cuisine is fast becoming a big new trend for UK foodies and Valentine – a firm favorite with the Good Food audience – is the perfect person to help us explore it,” said Good Food’s general manager Clare Laycock.

Valentine Warner’s Scandinavian Cookbook was commissioned by UKTV’s senior commissioning editor Catherine Catto. The executive producer is Michele Carlisle, the series producer and director is Joe Harding, and the commissioning executive for UKTV is Robert McCourt.

It joins Good Food’s original programming line-up alongside James Martin’s United Cakes of America and Choccywoccydoodah Star Challenge (working title).
