eOne hires reality programming and development VP for U.S.

Former MTV West Coast development exec Jeff Hevert (pictured) will develop new series and oversee current reality programming as eOne expands its alternative division.

Entertainment One Reality has named Jeff Hevert as VP current programming and development, alternative programming U.S. for eOne Reality, the company announced Tuesday.

Hevert will be responsible for developing new series and overseeing current programming.

“We’re focused on expanding our alternative programming division and as we continue to deliver ground-breaking, compelling programs, I’m confident that Jeff will be a great asset to the team,” said SVP U.S. alternative programming Tara Long in a statement.

Hevert will be based in eOne’s L.A. office and report to eOne Television CEO John Morayniss and Long.

Most recently, Hevert worked as a development executive on MTV’s West Coast reality team, where he was part of the early development and launch of upcoming docu-series Buck Wild with California’s Zoo Productions.

He previously worked in development at L.A.-based Stone and Company Entertainment on series including Bravo’s NYC Prep and kids’ game show BrainSurge for Nickelodeon.

Hevert began his career as a documentary filmmaker, producing the multimedia doc series Meth Inside Out, about recovery from methamphetamine addiction.

EOne’s current slate of factual programming includes Mary Mary for We TV; The Sheards for BET; and Perfect Storms: Disasters that Changed the World for History Television, UKTV and Historia, among other projects.
