Following the success of its scripted Hatfields & McCoys miniseries, U.S. cable net History is developing a reality series featuring the formerly feuding families’ descendants, realscreen has confirmed.

As first reported by Deadline, California-based Wild Eyes Productions, the prodco behind 3net’s 3D series Bullproof among other titles, is┬áproducing the series.

The scripted miniseries, produced by ThinkFactory Media, was History’s biggest hit to date, and the top entertainment telecast to date on ad-supported cable, averaging 13.8 million viewers over its three-night run in May of this year. Having won five out of the 16 Emmys for which it was nominated, it’s also up for two Golden Globe Awards.

In 2003, descendants from the two families signed an official truce, seemingly closing the book on the feud that stretched from 1863 to 1891.
