Discovery Communications has expanded the distribution of cable network TLC  in Eastern Europe.

The female-skewing entertainment channel is now available through Ukrainian cable operator Volia and Belorussian pay-TV platform Cosmo TV.

TLC replaces Travel and Living on Cosmos TV, which now carries six of Discovery Networks’ channels including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Science, Investigation Discovery and Discovery World. Viola also carries Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.

The channel launched in Poland in 2011 and in Russia two years ago.

“We remain committed to investing in new content and services for North East Europe that serve the needs of platform providers and that enhance the experience for TV viewers,” said Caleb Weinstein, SVP and general manager of distribution at Discovery Networks Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA).

TLC’s arrival on new platforms in the Ukraine and Belarus coincide with the roll out of wedding series Brides of Beverly Hills (pictured above), culinary show Taste Off and fashion challenge series Ultimate Shopper.
