“Conquering the World” lands on Discovery CEEMEA

Discovery Networks CEEMEA has acquired Scorpion TV's Conquering the World, a doc on a former rugby player's quest to climb the highest peak on each continent.

Discovery Networks CEEMEA has acquired Scorpion TV’s Conquering the World, a doc on a former rugby player’s quest to climb the highest peak on each continent.

The 55 and 75 minute doc will air across Discovery’s channels in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Conquering the World  follows Richard Parks, who went from rugby player to mountaineer after training for 18 months, as he attempts to break a world record, conquering the world’s seven summits and the North and South Pole in just seven months.

The doc, a realscreen MIPTV Pick for 2012, originally aired on the BBC in the UK, and has also been acquired by Red Bull for German-speaking Europe, RDS for French-speaking Canada, Globosat in Brazil, and Spafax for British Airways.

“This is the perfect title for Discovery’s audience,” said Scorpion TV’s MD, David Cornwall. “It is an action-packed, inspirational hour that shows the depth of one man’s determination and courage.”
