Ruiz tapped to head A+E Networks Lat Am

A+E Networks Latin America has promoted Eddy Ruiz (pictured) to the role of president and general manager, with a remit to lead the company's growth.

A+E Networks Latin America has promoted Eddy Ruiz (pictured) to the role of president and general manager, with the remit to lead the company’s growth.

Ruiz will continue to be responsible for the joint venture of A+E Networks and Ole Communications’ Latin America networks, A&E, History and Bio. He was previously the VP and GM for A+E Networks Lat Am, and has been with the company for 10 years.

The new responsibilities for Ruiz include leading the growth for brands, managing the growth of new technologies, and the expansion of Brazilian operations.

Prior to joining A+E Networks Latin America, Ruiz was senior VP and general manager of HBO Latin America Advertising Services, the pan-regional sales representative for A&E, History and The Warner Channel. He was also the president of The Weather Channel International, and was vice president of international affiliate distribution for Gems Television.
