TLC will launch the pilot of Bakery Boss, a new vehicle for Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro, on May 27, the Memorial Day holiday in the U.S..

The hour-long special, in which Valastro will head to Frankfort in New York to help a family with its struggling family bakery, will air at 10 p.m. EST, immediately following the double-episode premiere of Cake Boss, season six.

The new Valastro project had a working title of Bakery Go Time, when it was first announced at the start of this year.

Both programs are produced by High Noon Entertainment. ITV announced yesterday that it had bought a 60% stake in the company, which also produces Tough Love and Guinness World Records Gone Wild, among other series.
