U.S. cable network Lifetime is doubling up on the murder trial of Jodi Arias with a documentary, Jodi Arias: Beyond the Headlines, premiering on May 22, followed by an original scripted movie airing on June 22.
Arias was recently convicted of the first-degree murder of her ex-boyfriend, who was stabbed and shot to death on June 4, 2008. The trial was heavily covered in cable news, where she testified in her own defense, and revealed details of the sex, lies and obsession-fueled case.
CBS Eye Productions’ hour-long documentary promises an in-depth look at Arias’ relationship with the deceased, Travis Alexander, as told by Arias, her siblings and close friends, while police detective Esteban Flores and criminologist Lawrence Kobilinsky explain their take on the case.
It airs on May 22 at 10 p.m. EST/PST, and repeats on June 22 at 10 p.m. EST/PST, following the world premiere of the scripted movie, Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret.
