UK broadcaster ITV has commissioned in-house indie Shiver to produce a documentary delving into the country’s obsession with hot tubs.

Due to air in 2014, hour-long doc Hot Tub Britain will follow the people who run the country’s biggest hot tub superstore and their customers.

“There’s a real hot tub obsession in Britain; one in 10 households now have one in their garden,” said Shiver executive producer Sally Evans in a statement. “Hot Tub Britain is an entertaining and insightful documentary which by investigating our passion for hot tubs gives viewers a quirky and fascinating snapshot of British life today.”

Shiver is the factual division of ITV Studios UK.
