TVGN’s first development slate features “New Kids,” “TMI”

A reality series featuring New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) is among seven projects on CBS- and Lionsgate-owned cable net TV Guide Network (TVGN)’s first original series development slate.

The slate features a mix of unscripted shows and game shows about pop culture and celebrity. “We have commissioned a slate of original projects that capture compelling and exciting stories of Hollywood, fandom and obsession,” said Brad Schwartz, TVGN’s president of entertainment and media, in a statement.

Produced Jarrett Creative Group and executive produced by NKOTB member Donnie Wahlberg, Rock The Boat: New Kids On The Block (working title) follows a group of obsessed fans that board a cruise ship headlined by the pop group (pictured above).

Wahlberg is also the star and executive producer of recently announced A&E reality series Wahlburgers, which will also feature his actor brother Mark Wahlberg.

Also on TVGN’s development slate is TMI (working title), a Rogue Atlas-produced series that will relay Hollywood and entertainment news via celebrity tweets and posts. The series is being produced in association with Lionsgate Television and The Amazing Race executive producer Eli Frankel.

Celebrity Celebrity (working title) is a game show based on a popular parlor game in which two teams must guess famous names based on their team-mates’ clues. The show, which will feature teams of celebrity contestants, is being produced by Avalon Television. Joshua Malina, Hrishikesh Hirway, David Martin, Dan Lubetkin, Jon Thoday and Richard Allen-Turner are executive producing

On the Trium Entertainment-produced makeover series Have You Scene My Room (working title), a super-fan’s room is transformed into a memorabilia-stuffed tribute to their favorite Hollywood movie or television show. Joe Maddalena is the host and Tanya McQueen serves as co-host.

Tour Wars (working title) delves into the world of Hollywood Boulevard tour operators who go to extremes to profit off of Los Angeles tourists.  Rogue Atlas Productions and Four Henrys Productions are producing in association with Lionsgate Television. Eli Frankel, Aisha Corpas Wynn and Blaine Vess will serve as EPs.

Elsewhere, The Story Behind (working title), made by TV Guide Productions, profiles the behind-the-scenes stories of landmark television shows such as Friends and ER via interviews with the casts, producers and TV execs involved.

Finally, Watch! Magazine TV Project (working title) goes behind the scenes on celebrity and fashion shoots for CBS-owned Watch! Magazine. The series will also be produced by TV Guide Productions.
