MIPDoc ’14: DCD sends George Michael doc abroad

UK distributor DCD Rights has penned deals with networks in Australia and Latin America for doc on former Wham frontman George Michael.

DCD Media-owned UK distributor DCD Rights has penned deals with networks in Australia and Latin America for doc on former Wham frontman George Michael.

George Michael – Live at Palais Garnier Paris, a 60-minute concert and documentary featuring the singer in France, has been sold to AXS TV (U.S.), Foxtel (Australia), DirecTV (Latin America), Globosat (Brazil) and Phoenix Satellite Television (Hong Kong, China and Macau). 

Meanwhile, DirecTV, Globosat and Phoenix also acquired new MIP title Jessie J: Alive at the O2 (1 x 60-minutes or 1 x 90-minutes).

Nicky Davies Williams, CEO of DCD Rights, said: “Music programming continues to resonate with a wide range of fans across the globe.

“The multi-platform accessibility of music concerts and documentaries makes them particularly interesting to content buyers looking for ways to build their brand with a specific audience demographic.”
