MIPFormats ’14: TF1 ignites Keshet’s “Boom!”

French network TF1 has signed on to make a local version of Keshet International’s game show format Boom! (pictured).

The deal marks the first international sale for the trivia format, which challenges a squad of four players to defuse eight replica bombs by answering questions correctly within a strict time limit.

The news comes after Israeli producer-distributor Keshet announced that it was teaming up with Dick Clark Productions’ parent company DC Media to bring the format to the United States.

That project marks the first co-development deal between the two companies under the joint venture Keshet DCP, which they formed last fall to develop, finance and produce unscripted programming for English- and Spanish-speaking audiences in the U.S. and abroad.
