UK pubcaster Channel 4 has ordered a documentary about the increasing popularity of taxidermy from Mentorn Media.

Directed by Matt Rudge, the hour-long Get Stuffed! (working title, pictured above) will profile taxidermy practitioners, collectors and businesses. Taxidermy is the art of stuffing and mounting animal skins for display.

“Taxidermy as a pastime is having something of a renaissance around the world at the moment,” explained C4 commissioning editor Emma Cooper in a statement, adding that the project “will cast an eye on the characters behind the craft work and the ways in which some people are making a living from the dead.”

The characters profiled in the doc will range from professionals to amateurs, and include an artist who stuffed a dead cat and turned it into a helicopter, and hobbyists attempting to preserve a dead mouse.

Last week, Britain’s Channel 5 ordered the six-part, user-generated content series Angry Britain from Mentorn Media.
