Nas doc sells to UK, Germany, Italy, Japan

Sales agent Submarine Entertainment has penned a raft of global deals in Cannes for Tribeca-opening Nas doc Time is Illmatic (pictured), which was recently acquired for U.S. distribution.

The doc, which looks at the making of the rapper’s 1994 debut album, has been picked up by Madman Entertainment for Australia and New Zealand, Dogwoof for the UK, NFP Films for Germany, Feltrinelli for Italy, Parco for Japan, and NonStop Entertainment for Scandinavia.

American rights were recently picked up by Tribeca Film, after the doc kicked off the New York festival of the same name last month.
