A+E Networks to rebrand BIO channel in EMEA

A+E Networks is retiring its BIO channel brand across EMEA, as part of a rebrand that will see the A&E channel premiering to 10 million households in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and Portuguese-speaking Africa.

A&E will offer titles such asĀ Wahlburgers (pictured above), Duck Dynasty and Storage Wars, and will also commission local productions and local acquisitions.

The launch marks the debut of A&E in Africa, following the brand’s European debut via France in November 2013. The rebrand of BIO to A&E will occur in German-speaking Europe in late September, with Iberia and Africa to follow in early October.

“These A&E launches will significantly strengthen our channel portfolio across German-speaking Europe, Iberia and Africa,” said Dean Possenniskie, A+E Networks’ MD for EMEA, in a statement.
