U.S. net TLC has upped three execs on its East Coast production and development team, in a bid to develop series execution, manage formats and oversee Kate Plus 8 specials.

The execs include Alon Orstein (pictured, left), who now serves as senior VP of production and development; Wendy Douglas (pictured, right), who has been upped to VP of production; and Marisa Levy, who is now VP of development. All three report to Howard Lee, exec VP of production and development for the East Coast.

Orstein, previously an exec producer at parent company Discovery Communications, will now oversee editorial and execution on series and specials. His credits include the Breaking Amish franchise, Cake BossSister Wives and All-American Muslim, among others.

Meanwhile, former executive producer Wendy Douglas – who has launched and managed shows such as Long Island Medium and 19 Kids and Counting - will now oversee Kate Plus 8 specials. Douglas previously served as EP on Jon & Kate Plus 8 from the show’s inception through to its finale.

Finally, Marisa Levy, formerly the senior director of programming development for TLC and Discovery Fit & Health, will now work with domestic and international prodcos to develop formats and original series, and serve as a development liaison between TLC and Discovery Networks International. The exec’s credits include I Found the GownSex Sent Me to the ER, and Extreme Cheapskates.

“Alon, Wendy, and Marisa represent some of the most creative and tenacious talent I’ve ever worked with,” said Lee in a statement. “These promotions are in direct response to their outstanding contributions to the network.”
