Discovery Communications’ in-house prodco Discovery Studios has inked a production deal with executive producer Rob Kerr (pictured), who will develop and produce original programming for the company.

Kerr – who has 25 years of experience in the field – previously served as executive producer for Velocity’s Iron Resurrection and co-executive producer for American Heroes Channel’s Secrets of the Arsenal.  His other credits include Discovery Channel’s MythBusters, National Geographic Channel’s World’s Toughest Fixes and History’s Meat America.

“Rob brings his expertise, passion and creative vision to the table and we are confident his addition to Discovery Studios will generate even more original and engaging television,” said Lee Bartlett, president of Discovery Studios Group and Production, in a statement.

Kerr added: “Discovery Studios offers a fresh vibe and unique set-up that allows its producers to thrive both individually and collectively to generate the best content possible.”
