VH1 to put twins to the test

The U.S. cable network has ordered Twinning, a Lighthearted Entertainment-produced reality competition series that will star 12 teams of identical twin competitors.

U.S. cable network VH1 has ordered a reality competition series that will star teams of identical twin competitors.

Due to premiere in summer 2015, Twinning (10 x one hour, working title) will pit 12 teams of twins against one another in a series of challenges designed to test their familial bonds and so-called “twin-tuition” powers, such as feeling each other’s physical pain. The winners will receive a prize of US$222,222.22.

“Viewers can expect double the meltdowns, double the hook-ups and, of course, double the twists as the contestants are pushed to their limits in unexpected ways,” the network said in a statement. “As the strengths and weaknesses of each twin pair is revealed, relationships will be tested and resentments will be exposed.”

The show will be produced by Lighthearted Entertainment, the company behind VH1′s Dating Naked. Executive producers are Howard Schultz, Rob LaPlante and Jeff Spangler for Lighthearted, and Susan Levison, Jill Holmes, Kristen Kelly, Fernando Mills and Tricia Biggio for VH1.
